Hello again! We hope you are all doing well! It's getting chilly over here - we've been wearing jackets some lately. Hopefully it's just a cold spell and it will get warm again before winter sets in. It supposedly won't get really cold until January, but we'll see (what they call warm may be cold to us). We went and saw the West End play "Chicago" last week - this is the show that Jill performed in back home. David Hasselhoff played the lawyer, Billy Flynn. We both really enjoyed it. We went down to Brighton last Saturday. Brighton is about an hour train ride directly south of us. It's on the coast of the English Channel, and the beach is made up of all pebbles. This is the first pebble beach I've ever seen - it was weird to see a beach without sand - the sounds of the waves crashing and running over the pebbles was really neat though. Brighton has a huge pier with games, roller coasters, and other rides - very similar to Santa Monica Pier in L.A. I threw a few darts and won Jill a stuffed tiger - she played basketball and won a stuffed frog - I don't think I've ever seen her lose at one of these types of basketball games. She was too scared to ride the roller coaster with me, but we both had a good time with the bumper cars! I guess I'll go ahead and get this over with - she beat me at air hockey - but it's the first time she's ever beat me!

You know Jill - she found the shops of Brighton - we checked out The Lanes and The North Laines. There were a lot of cool shops and restaurants - and get this, Jill found a Mexican restaurant, so of course we had lunch there. It was really good. We actually found another one in London too - I'm sure we'll be checking it out soon enough. The Royal Pavillion is the palace where the prince used to live. The architecture is very different from everything else we've seen during our travels - it's said to be one of the most exotic buildings in the British Isles. The outside reminds us of the Taj Mahal, and the inside decoration and structure is Chinese-like. We got to see the Volks Railway (Britain's oldest electric railway) - it runs along the coast of the English Channel from Brighton Pier to Brighton Marina.

Last Sunday we went to Hampton Court Palace. This palace is set in 60 acres of world famous gardens and holds history from Henry VIII to George II. Jill and I went through the hedge maze and decided to split up and see who could get out first. As some of you know, Jill is like a "human map", so of course she made it out first - however, I was out within a minute of when she made it - and if it wasn't for the slow woman in front of me, I may have even won :) - I'm just glad I wasn't stuck in there all day long! We toured the Palace - state apartments, kings/queens apartments, the courtyards, and the gardens. It's a cool place - the gardens out back are very impressive!

College football - we definitely miss going to all of the games. We get audio of all college games over the internet, and we get video of the JP games on TV. Since we played Western Carolina two Saturdays ago at 12:00AM GMT, we didn't stay up and listen to it live. So on Sunday, we had to make sure that we didn't pull up emails with the score in it, go to sports websites, or talk to anyone back home that could give it away. It's harder than it seems - as we spoke to people back home, we could tell something was up by the way they asked if we'd heard the game yet. Jill claims that she didn't mean to "guess" what happened, but she knew before we listened to it. She didn't tell me, but I knew something was wrong. And when I got the "talk to me after the second drive of the 3rd quarter" from OBR, I had guesses of my own. We listened to it on Sunday night - bummer about Brodie. When you talk to us on Saturdays and Sundays, please keep it in mind that we may not have listened to the game yet - PLEASE don't give it away!

Pro Football - we get two games live on Sundays at 6:00PM and 9:15PM GMT. The rest I have to check out on the gamecast on the internet. Our flat-mates (Justin and Rachel) that live two floors below us came up and watched one with us two Sundays ago - I had to teach them the rules - and I didn't realize how much I don't even know - and it's pretty tough trying to explain it. We hung out at their place this past Friday and learned a new card game - it's called Blackjack, but it's nothing like the blackjack game that you know - it's more like Uno (but it's a pretty fun game).

Kathleen arrived here on Saturday morning - it's great to see her and we're looking forward to spending the week with her. She took a quick nap to try to help with her jetlag, but I don't think she slept too much. We walked around and looked at some sights, then went to Sports Cafe to watch the Bama game - to make a long story short, they told me on Wednesday that they would be playing the Bama game on TV, and three different people confirmed it when we got there - but no, it was never played - and as I complained to the manager, he said that they never were going to play it because they couldn't get the feed - so someone knew the whole time, but four people had no clue because they kept saying that it would be on later. Anyway, we all listened to it last night. We'll let you know all about Kathleen's visit in the next update.

Our updated pictures are London, Brighton, and Hampton Court - check them out when you get a chance. We love and miss you all! Take care and God bless!
